Tina Hahn, Producer/Director/Picture Editor
Tina Hahn is the founder of Symmetree media. Her specialty is post production and she has edited over 40 independent productions over the last 10 years and has worked for many independent producers as well as the National Film Board and the Toronto International Film Festival. In 2001, she launched Symmetree media with Life'sa Twitch, a half-hour documentary celebrating difference through a profile of Duncan McKinlay, a young man with Tourette Syndrome. She was nominated for 2 Gemini Awards as producer and editor on Life'sa Twitch, and was awarded the Maureen Cavanaugh Public Awareness Award for her work in raising awareness of Tourette Syndrome. More recently, Tina has produced and directed programming for Discovery Health Channel Canada, CTV, Bravo! Canada, Book Television, Knowledge Network and SCN.
She is currently in post production on a documentary about community cycling around the world for OMNI Television and will soon start production on the second in a series of documentaries on Stickler Syndrome which has been filmed in Canada, the United States and Great Britain. Her development slate includes a number of projects that developed out of her participation in 2005 GZDOC festival and the 2006 DOK Leipzig as part of delegations organized by Hot Docs. Tina is an active member of the film community and currently serves as Treasurer on the National Executive of the Documentary Organization of Canada (DOC) and Chair of the Professional Development Committee of the DOC Toronto Chapter.
Felipe Rodriguez, Cinematographer
Felipe has a unique intuition that makes him a documentary directors dream. He has shot short dramas, experimental films, music videos, PSA's, educational videos, TV specials and pilots, and his own feature, Like A Puppet Out of Strings. Presently in post on the later, he is already starting preliminary cinematography for Wetback, a doc that will have him crossing the America's in the Spring of 2004.
John Michael Loranger, Sound Recordist & Sound Editor
John has 5 years professional experience in the recording sound industry. His experience as a location sound recordist includes documentary, music video, corporate video and film. As a sound editor, his film work has been heard at the Toronto International Film Festival in Perfect and The Dog Walker, as well as in several documentaries broadcast on CBC. Most recently he has completed a feature film which will be touring the International Film Festival circuit in 2004.
Aaron Davis, Composer
Aaron Davis is an eclectic composer, arranger and keyboardist who has two careers: one as a keyboard player and arranger for singer Holly Cole, and one as a composer of music for film. Since 1985 he has scored more than 50 films, some of them with his film-writing partner John Lang. Aaron has been nominated for three Genie awards, and four Gemini awards. Kristina Smith
Web Master/Graphic Designer Kristina Smith runs her own freelance business in digital imaging and has included Symmetree media in her client list for the past several years. She is currently working for the University of Toronto in the Speech Language Pathology Department as the Administrative Assistant to Clinical Education and Academic Affairs. Her responsibilities include maintaining the department's web sites, a role she played at her previous employer, Trinity Square Video, where she was Communications Coordinator.
